My First Moogle Hat

So I wanted to show you guys my first attempt at making a moogle hat! I'm fairly happy with the way this one turned out, but there are several improvements I think I could make to it. I am definitely going to try them out, but I wanted to show you version one anyways.

I'm not good at making knitting patterns yet but I basically just cast on 72 stitches, did a couple of rows of seed stitch, then stockinette stitch for the rest until it was the length I wanted it, about 7 inches. I seamed the top together, knitted some basic triangles in purple/pink, then added a yellow pompom on top that I made with my clover pom maker. Oh, and I embroidered the eyes on with black yarn.

I like it but there are some definite changes I want to make. First off, it's way too big for me. I think the ears would be more pronounced if it were tighter. So I'm going to try fewer stitches next time. I also want thicker yarn. I loved the soft fuzziness of this yarn, but I want fluffier and fuzzier. So I'm going to look for some better yarn. I might also do away with the ear triangles. I'm not sure it's needed and I think simpler might be cuter in this case. I also need to do a better job embroidering the eyes next time. They should be closer together and with smaller stitches, I can get the curve to them a little more precise. The pom pom is perfect.

This is the yarm I used. It's white Angel Hair by Luxe Craft. And since it's a bulky yarn, I used size 10.5 Takumi circular knitting needles.

Let me know what you think! I'd love to get some feedback so I can make the perfect moogle hat. Thanks for reading!
